Commencement ceremonies for 35 Spring Hill High School graduating seniors at Hempstead Hall on the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope campus Thursday night was a poignant scene. Calhoon offered special mention to his teachers and their mentoring of himself and his classmates, concluding with well wishes for the Class of 2013.Spring Hill High School Counselor Kay King announced the awarding of some $1.5 million in college scholarships to the Class of 2013.Highest honors students in the Class of 2013 include Ryan McRaven, Hunter Calhoon, Lauren Ashlee Kidd, Mardi Gayle Burns, Destiny Rae Carrico, Lindsey Brooke Fuller, Madison Paige Kidd, and Hayden Blake Halbert. Those students maintained grade point averages between 3.75-4.50, with ACT composite scores of 19 or higher, and completed eight or more honors classes, graduating with a minimum of 26 credits, according to King.Honor graduates include Colton Belk, Cody Sipes, Boone Kidd, Jacob Johnson, and Cole Townsend.
